Fights for Power; Father Lou Pierre speaks! We asked Someone who was against the revolution to let us know how he felt. We managed to get in contact with Father Lou Pierre, Priest,in the L'église Nos Dieux," to tell us a bit about his situation in this conflictive revolution, were all seems lost.
Well, I think this is a total and out of the question situation. Why should I a man of prestige suffer such a horrible difamity? I am humble and have served God as well as I could. Now this nonsense of equality is totally out of the question. We are equal and I think that the burgeoisie are being exaggerated about this. Why would we want to change? I'm perfectly well the way I am now. I also want to say that the clergy has the divine right to stop this stupidity once and for all, and will if it is necessary. This is all I have to say.
Father Lou Pierre.
The Constitution that was written in 1791, created a constitutional monarchy. This meant that the separation of powers, suggested by Philip Montesquieu would be put into practice. This made sure nobody had more power then the rest.I think that the National Assembly Did well in trying to reconsruct France the way they did. Those three years had a nice effect on the government and on the people. Obviously it all couldn't go right, if it had, it wouldn't have been France. The separation of powers was a great idea and was a modern one too, but what this revolution was all about was power, and this balancing of powers was ok for a start, but there had to be some sort of discrimination invloved in it some way or another. How? Easy, the population was divided into two; Active and Passive. What does this mean? Well, this means that only males with land could vote. This meant that 3 million people out of 25,ooo,ooo could vote. So my point is the following; Why write a constitution in order to equallize power, and at the same time denies that power to others? What the Revolution needed was equality in every field and not just in those areas were the burgeoisie thought.

New Constitution; is it necessary?
The Reign of Terror. The Reign of Terror. Always in history, there have been times of terror and disaster, the Holocoust, World War I, World War II, and the one I intend to talk about, The Reign of Terror during the French Revolution. In order to suspend democracy, the Committee of Public Safety was orginized by Maximilien Robespierre, Danton, and Carnot. The definition of democracy as I understand it is a country were the decisions are made by the people, and were the people are the ones that have the last word. in order for Maximilien to form a committe in wich he intends to orginize the country's war efforts, the committee must have those purposes all along. But I don't think Max had those intentions all along. How can you form a committe to favor the people and half way through, against the people, and end up suspending democracy? Thats why I said at the begining, that the Committee of Public Safety was orginized in first place to suspend democracy, they said it was meant to help, but it eventually ended up killing 25,000 people. What this committee was ment for was, exterminating democracy in a"nice" way, and taking power by their hands. I think The reign of terror were so many inocent people were killed, was premeditated and meant for.
